Tonight’s Council Meeting postponed

Due to the status of the school being currently closed to students and classes being moved online, tonight’s Council Meeting will be postponed in order to allow the school administration to get a better sense of the situation and what comes next. Please stay tuned for a new date which will be announced shortly.

School Council Meeting – tomorrow: Tues Sept 24 6:30pm

Please join us for the first School Council Meeting of the year on Tuesday Sept 24 at 6:30pm in the library (3rd floor). For both returning families and those who are new to the school, Council presents a great opportunity to stay informed of what’s going on in the school and to get involved.

At this kickoff meeting, members from last year’s Council will review the role and general activites of the Council, and candidates running for the coming year’s School Council positions will be on hand to present thier qualifications. As part of the newly adopted bylaws, an election will be held if required.

As always, all are welcome to join…and we promise that you don’t even need to sign up for a position. (Unless you want to of course).

Tech-Spark Coding Club for Girls started Feb. 2, 2018. See Ms. Singh to get involved.

There is an important Student Parliament meeting this Thursday, Feb. 8 at 11:35 in room 207. It’s a full lunch meeting.

To any Grade 6 girl interested in joining the volleyball team, come to Room 201 to pick up a form.

There is a Grade 7 & 8 girls volleyball tryout this morning at 7:50am. Bring forms.

Anyone who has found a Samsung Galaxy A5, please return to office for cash reward.

On Tuesday, December 11, there will be Student Parliament elections for school Prime Minister. Students will be able to listen to speeches and vote for a candidate.

Mrs. Nakamura is holding a meeting at 11:55am to organize jobs she will need students to do. Meet in Room 207 for 5-10minutes.

Boys Grade 6 volleyball practices are today and tomorrow (Mon/Tues) at lunch.

The Forest of Reading, Silver Birch and Red Maple will be launched at the beginning of lunch on Thursday, Nov. 30. Please bring your lunch to the library on Thursday for first picks.

Rainbow Club will me at lunch today. Please confirm with Ms. Harrison if you are coming to the movie on Thursday.

2nd Annual International Family Potluck tonight at 6pm

This is an important message for anyone who likes to sing! Mr. Kingston and Ms. Emes are starting a vocal group that is open to all students. Practice begins this Thursday at 11:30am in the music room. Bring your lunch and coat!

Rainbow Club resumes next Tuesday at lunch. Let Ms. Harrison know if you will be joining for the Nov. 30 movie.

Anyone interested in ordering D.A. hoodie should see Mr. Kingston in the gym to get an order form. Cost $30. Deadline next Friday.

There will be a quick Grade 6 Boys volleyball meeting after school today (Thurs) in room 106. You will be picking up forms for our upcoming tournament.

Last call for Prime Minister Candidate (Student Council)
See Ms. Nakamura on Wednesday with your speech ideas. If you cannot meet at lunch, be sure to speak to her. Candidates who do not, risk being disqualified.

Good Food Club (G.R.O.W.) is meeting in the kitchen at 3:15pm on Wednesday. New members welcome!

Beauty and the Beast permission forms were to be handed in this week.
